Bout 4: Salty Dolls vs Mile Die Club

Saturday’s bout was a hard-fought battle between the two original teams of Adelaide Roller Derby: Salty Dolls and Mile Die Club.

The first half was a close match with the scores never more than a powerjam apart. The Dies stole the lead from the Salties late in the period, however lost their jammer to the box which allowed the Salties to enter half time with a small lead. SD 82, MDC 76.

The Dies began the second half with their jammer and two blockers in the box, not a good way to begin against a dominant team and the Salties made the the most of the advantage, racking up the powerjams and the points.  The Dies rallied and started to chip away at the Salty lead but time was not on their side.

Final score SD 207, MDC 111

Big thanks to iHeart for providing the tunes.

Happy Birthday to The Philistine who celebrated her birthday in the best derby way, and a sad farewell to our beloved Towanda Steele, who after 18 months with ADRD jets back home to the US of A tomorrow. We’ll miss you, buddy.

See you on Saturday June 15 at 6pm when the Salty Dolls take on the Wild Hearses.
